The Goblin Copter is a flying enemy encountered on Nightmare and Massacre. Copters spawn at the same or similar locations to Wyverns on all maps that support said enemy type. They come in pre-loaded with an Ogre to deploy somewhere on the map. This Ogre wears a propeller hat to distinguish it from regular Ogres.
This enemy is introduced to players in the Lava Mines on Nightmare Campaign.
A copter initially flies to one of a series of predetermined locations to drop off its Ogre. On its way to an unloading site, it periodically releases a flare to distract towers that try to shoot it.
Once the Goblin Copter drops the Ogre at its intended location, it proceeds to fire homing rockets at the heroes. When the copter is destroyed, it crashes to the ground and explodes. Any heroes and defenses caught in this explosion take heavy fire damage. Neither Goblin Copters or their Ogres can damage Eternia Crystals.
In Rift Mode, Rifted Goblin Copters drop off Rifted Copter Ogres which are dangerous to physical defenses. Both the explosions from rockets and the copter crashing have a larger area of effect.
If a Goblin Copter is shot down before it manually drops its ogre, the ogre loses 2/3's of its HP immediately. Destroying copters early may lead their ogres into falling off the map to their death or landing at locations they cannot path off of, thus leaving them stuck in-place.
Copter Ogres do not drop any mana when killed.
Goblin Copters never spawn with an elemental affinity. Ensnare Auras and Poison Traps are therefore guaranteed to slow down/stun any and all copters that enter them.
Their rockets can be deflected with Reflect Fields.
When playing solo, no more than two Goblin Copters can be on the map at any given time. This limit does not apply to Copter Ogres.
The Deadly Striker Tower is the premier defense to shoot down copters, without hero weapons. They have high target priority on them, as with all Nightmare enemies.
